Geoffrey C. FOOTE, BEng

Partner (based in Singapore)
Geoff Foote started living and working in the South East Asia region
since 2002, initially as General Manager for Singapore/Malaysia and
various other roles in business development, corporate strategy and
management. Before joining Biomedical Strategy Consultants, he spent two
and a half years as Vice President in the Healthcare Division of
Malaysian Biotechnology Corporation where he had a major focus on
developing the medical device and diagnostics sector in that country.
He has extensive connections in the device industry globally and is
enthusiastic about the potential for biotech growth in the Asia region.
Geoff worked as a biomedical engineer in product development, signal
analysis, and diagnostics. Prior to moving to Asia he established a
number of successful services in respiratory and sleep diagnostics in
Australia and was active in a number of industry associations.
Geoff studied engineering at the University of Southern Queensland
and University of NSW in Australia.
Jeremy S. CHRISP, BSc (Hons), PhD

Dr Jeremy Chrisp has 21+ years experience in the Australian
healthcare market as a scientist, marketer, senior manager, consultant
and entrepreneur in the pharmaceutical, medical device and life science
fields. He is the founder and managing director of Jeremy Chrisp &
Associates, a management consulting company specialising in the
commercialisation for the Australian biotechnology industry with a focus
on start-up ventures. In addition, Jeremy is an Investment Manager with
ANU Connect Ventures, a $30 million pre-seed investment fund of the
ANU-MTAA Super Venture Capital Partnership.
Jeremy gained this experience by working with leading global
multinational companies, including Merck & Co, Stryker, Becton Dickinson
& Medtronic. He held positions including clinical research associate,
sales representative, product manager, marketing manager, business
development manager, sales & marketing manager as well as managing
director. Until recently, Jeremy was the inaugural CEO of Medsaic Pty
Ltd, a spin-out company from The University of Sydney, which
commercialised a new antibody micro-array platform for the diagnosis of
disease by the identification of surface proteins.
Jeremy holds a BSc (Hons) in physiology from the University of Otago
(NZ) and a PhD in physiology from the University of Canterbury (NZ). He
is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Hiroyasu
TSUZUKI
Senior Associate
(based in Tokyo, Japan)
Hiroyasu Tsuzuki has over 35
years experience in sales and marketing positions in the healthcare
industry in Japan. He joined Biomedical Strategy Consultants Japan
Office in October 2005 and has since successfully managed several
complex market entry projects.
Tsuzuki previously held the
position of Sales Director at B.Braun Japan successfully building a
solid market presence in Japan for the company’s Regional Anesthesia
product range. Prior to B.Braun, he held a sales manager position at
Mallinckrodt Japan. He also spent a number of years at Terumo, a leading
Japanese medical device company, holding various sales positions
covering a wide range of disposable medical products. Tsuzuki started
his career as a Medical Representative for Kowa Pharmaceutical (later
acquired by Solvay).
Dhanraj
CHANDRIANI, BA, MSc
Senior Associate (based in Mumbai, India)
Dhanraj Chandriani has over 25 years of experience in the healthcare
sector. He began his career in manufacturing medical devices such as
patient monitoring systems, electrosurgical devices and defibrillators.
He later moved on to a career in marketing a wide spectrum of medical
devices in India and finally became the CEO of the organisation X-ray &
Electromedicals (India). In addition, he has held the position of
Director-Healthcare of the Manipal Group, the single largest healthcare
group in India owning 12 hospitals and 5 medical colleges in the
country.
Currently Dhanraj manages his own hospital planning and management
consultancy firm. He has successfully completed over 38 hospital
projects in India. He has also acted as advisor to the Ministry of
Health, Govt. of Maharashtra on World Bank funded healthcare projects in
the State of Maharashtra.
He is visiting faculty at the Garware Institute (Bombay University),
TSEC (Biomedical Engineering College, Bombay) and Symbiosis Institute (Pune)
where he teaches hospital planning and management. Dhanraj holds an MSc
in Physics from Bombay University, a Degree in Business Administration
(J. Bajaj Institute, Bombay) and a Diploma in Hospital Administration (NHMI,
Bombay). He is fluent in English and Hindi.
Philip
YUE Zhi Guo, BEng
Senior Associate
(based in Beijing, China)
Philip Yue has 18 years’ experience in the medical equipment
industry, having held various senior executive positions in sales and
marketing. Philip has worked in the Chinese medical industry for more
than 16 years, where he has been based in Beijing, Shanghai and
Guangzhou.
Philip worked a number of years with Hewlett-Packard Medical Products
Group (now a unit of Philips Medical), based in China starting 1987. He
joined Siemens Medical China Operations in the late nineties as General
Manager Sales and Marketing and played an instrumental role in
establishing the sales and distribution infrastructure for Siemens
Medical across the country. Philip moved to Singapore in 2001 as
Asia-Pacific Marketing Director for Siemens Medical. He returned to
China two years later and joined ultrasound manufacturer SonoSite Inc.
as China Country Manager. He currently heads a medical equipment
distributor organization which he co-founded, with offices in Beijing
and Shanghai.
Philip holds a Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from
Zhejiang University, China. He is fluent in English and Mandarin.
