How do I best contact
you if I’m in a different time zone?
Singapore is
8 hours ahead of GMT, 16 hours ahead of US PST (Pacific Standard Time),
and 13 hours ahead of US EST (Eastern Standard Time). If you are based
in Europe, you can reach us in the office if you call in your morning.
If you are based in North America, e-mail us first. We will get back to
you, usually within 24 hours, to schedule a convenient time for a
telephone discussion.
As our senior
partners often travel across Asia and to Europe and North America, we
are usually able to have face-to-face meetings early on in a project.
Final project presentations are always conducted face-to-face, at a
location of your choice.

What makes you better
or different from other consulting firms?
Only our
clients can judge if we are better. However, we are different
in a number of ways which we believe is where we best add value
to your organisation:
-
Industry
focus and network: We are totally committed to the
healthcare industry. We know the players and
we know the market dynamics. Our industry network
in Asia-Pacific covers every major market and includes hundreds of
personal contacts among healthcare distributors, clinicians,
manufacturers and subsidiaries of multinationals.
-
Hands-on
management experience: While we do not disregard academic models
and methodologies, our work is firmly based on decades of practical
hands-on management experience in the healthcare industry. When our
clients ask us to recommend a distribution strategy, we do not look it
up in a text book. We are known to provide
practical, actionable and "street-smart" advice to our clients.
-
Extensive
international experience: We speak eleven languages and have lived
and worked in the healthcare industry in the UK, USA, Canada, Sweden,
Germany, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, China, Hong Kong
and India.
We know hospitals and key opinion leaders from Huddinge to Hiroshima, from
Brisbane to Birmingham and from Kota Kinabalu to Kaohsiung.

When was your firm
established?
Identifying a
market need for specialist medtech business advice, we formed Biomedical
Strategy Consultants in June 2001. Although new as a consulting
company we are old in the experience we offer and developed our
consulting skills from working closely with our internal top management
colleagues and many prestigious external service providers, such as
McKinsey, The Wilkerson Group, Booz Allen Hamilton,
PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Having been
in your shoes, we understand your needs and believe you
will find it easy to do business with us.

Who are your
clients?
Our clients
include divisions of major healthcare multinationals, small and medium size
private and public medical businesses, creative clinician inventors and
entrepreneurs as well as venture capitalists, angels and corporate
investors. We currently have clients based in Asia, Europe and the
United States.

Do you subscribe to
a code of ethics?
Absolutely.
We adhere to the strict
International Code of Professional Conduct established by the
International Council of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI).

Do you delegate or
subcontract your work?
When working
with Biomedical Strategy Consultants you are always
assured of the personal
involvement of our senior partners. We do not delegate projects, no
matter how small, to junior research analysts. We normally do not
subcontract any of the services we offer. However, if a client requires
specific assistance in a field where our expertise is limited, we will
work with the best in the industry.
We work in
partnership with leading experts in the region for the full range of our
enterprise acceleration services.

What is your fee
structure?
We prefer our
clients to focus on the project end-results and not to worry about
monitoring hourly fees. Our fees are, therefore, typically
project-based, not time-based. We let you know upfront exactly what the
fee will be for a particular project - with no surprises.
For certain
types of services, however, such as managing a regional distribution
network over an extended period of time, a retainer-fee structure may be
more appropriate.
For start-up
clients with limited funds, and under special circumstances, we may be
prepared to accept an equity stake in the business in lieu of
traditional fees. This is more often the arrangement with clients
requiring the full range of enterprise acceleration services.
After an
initial needs analysis and thorough discussions with our client, we
compile a formal project proposal outlining project objectives, scope,
methodology, deliverables, time schedule and fees. You will find that we
deliver excellent value at very competitive fees.
